Plus Model 341 P.I.A.T.

PIAT was a British anti-tank grenade launcher from World War II and the post-war period. The weapon weighed 15 kilograms, was 99 centimeters long, and the effective range was up to 105 meters. The caliber of the weapon was 83 mm.

The first prototype weapons, which later became the famous PIAT, were created as early as 1940, but the weapon entered production in 1942, and in the same year entered service with the British armed forces. The aim was for PIATs to replace Boys anti-tank rifles in British infantry units. This weapon had a lot of advantages - first of all, it was very easy to use, and training in its use took very little time. It could also be used in closed rooms, which in the case of eg Bazooka was very difficult. PIAT was also relatively cheap to produce. The disadvantages of this weapon include a relatively large recoil. This type of weapon was used in such battles as, for example, the Operation in Normandy (1944), the Battle of Arnhem (1944), but also the Warsaw Uprising (August-October 1944). It remained in service until 1950 and was also used after World War II by the Netherlands, India and Israel.
