KPWT (KPVT) is a Soviet 14.5 mm tank machine gun from the period of World War II and the post-war period. The weapon was developed and entered into production in the 1950s. The main designer of the rifle was Siemon Vladimirov. The KPWT rifle was fed from tapes of 40 or 50 rounds, and it fired a 14.5x114 mm bullet. Its maximum theoretical rate of fire was up to 600 rounds per minute, and the initial velocity of the bullet fired from this rifle was about 1000 m / s. It is assumed that the effective range of this weapon was up to 2000-3000 m, with the maximum range reaching 4000 meters. The KPWT rifle was a tank variant of the KPW rifle. Compared to its prototype, it differed in the use of, inter alia, a replaceable barrel or the so-called electro drain. Another mechanism for reloading weapons was also proposed. The rifle was mounted on several types of Soviet Army vehicles, including the T-10M tank, the BRDM-2, BTR-60 BTR-80 or the SU-122-54 self-propelled gun.
