The Armstrong Whitworth AW41 Albemarle is a British twin-engine multi-role aircraft. It was originally designed as a medium bomber, but during World War II, after modifications, it was used primarily as a transport plane and a glider tugboat. Albemarle was used min. during the Normandy landings and during Operation Market Garden. The flight of the prototype took place on March 20, 1940, and serial production started in the same year. During the whole war, about 600 machines were created. Technical data: Top speed: 426 km / h; climb speed 5.0 m / s, maximum ceiling 5486 m, maximum range: 2100 km, armament: fixed - 6 machine guns caliber 7.7 mm, suspended - up to 2000 kg of bombs.
