The WZ-550 AT is a modern Chinese 4x4 wheeled tank destroyer. The drive is probably a single, 8-cylinder engine diesel with power up to 320 HP. The first vehicles of this type entered service in the Chinese armed forces in the 1990s and probably still remain in service. The armament of the WZ-550 AT consists of four single HJ-9 guided missile launchers. The WZ-550 AT is a development and modernization of the WZ-550 wheeled armored personnel carrier, which in turn is a smaller version of the WZ551 (Type 92) 6-wheeled vehicle. It can be assumed that the WZ-550 AT was and probably is still intended to be operated in Chinese mechanized unions as a highly mobile anti-tank defense system for short and very short distances. The main armament of the vehicle is four HJ-9 missiles, each weighing 37 kg and having a length of 120 cm. It also has a range of up to 5,500 meters. On the other hand, the WZ-550 AT has armor, probably made only of steel, which provides the crew with protection against small-caliber fire with a caliber of up to 12.7 mm and smaller fragments of artillery shells. It is also characterized by amphibious abilities and good performance, especially speed.
