Heller 80390 Amiot 143

The Amiot 143 is a French bomber and reconnaissance aircraft from the Second World War. The prototype of the Amiot 140 aircraft was built in 1931 and, after numerous modifications, in 1934 it was put into production under the designation Amiot 143M-4. The first serial Amiot 143M-4 aircraft were built in April 1935. Production continued until 1938, ending with 178 aircraft produced. After the commencement of serial production, the Amiot 143 planes were successively introduced to the French aviation and finally 5 bomber squadrons were equipped with them until 1939. The Amiot 143M-4 planes were used in 1939. for reconnaissance flights over the Ruhr. In May 1940, after the German attack on France, these planes bombed transport lines and columns of enemy troops. On May 14, 1940, during an air raid in the area of the Sedan, the A subjects 143-M4 suffered such heavy losses that they were withdrawn from bombing flights and used only for reconnaissance. After the capitulation of France, the Amiot 143M-4 planes remaining in the aviation equipment became part of the Vichy State aviation.
