Blohm und Voss Bv 138 is a German three-engine flying boat with an all-metal structure, in the high-wing configuration of the Second World War. The flight of the prototype took place on July 15, 1937, but the first line units received these machines only in 1940. The Blohm und Voss Bv 138 planes were the Luftwaffe's primary naval reconnaissance aircraft during World War II. In total, in the years 1937-1943, 297 copies of this aircraft were produced. In serial versions, the role of the power unit was performed by three 6-cylinder Junkers Jumo 205D engines with 880 HP. Many of the Blohm und Voss Bv.138 machines were equipped with the FuG 200 Hohentwiel radar, and the MS version also with a special device for searching for sea mines.
