St. Onufry in Posada Rybotycka (Podkarpackie Province) is the oldest church in Poland that has survived to our times. The temple's roots date back to the turn of the 14th and 15th centuries, when a presbytery with Gothic gables was most likely erected. On the other hand, the square nave with a defensive barrel-vaulted tower dates back to the 15th century. The youngest part of the building - erected in the 16th century - is the fragile one (vestibule) and the women's gallery, i.e. the part of the temple intended for women. The towers of the temple are topped with hipped roofs, and the building itself has a defensive character - it has thick walls and loopholes. Until 1692 it was an Orthodox Church, and later a Greek Catholic one. In 1945, the church was terribly devastated and damaged. Conservation works in the church were carried out in the 1960s and 1980s. In their course, the 16th-century polychrome in the Byzantine style was discovered. In 2010, the building was handed over to the management of the Fredropol commune.
