The Fairchild PT-19 is an American single-engine low-wing mixed construction training aircraft. The flight of the prototype took place on May 15, 1939. A year later, serial production started, which lasted until 1945 and resulted in the production of over 6,300 copies. The main unit used as a power unit was the Fairchild Ranger L-440-3 engine with a capacity of 200 HP. Several versions of the aircraft were created (PT-19, PT-19A, PT-19B and PT-23S), which, however, mainly differed from each other in the engines used. The Fairchild PT-19 turned out to be a very successful aircraft. It quickly became one of the staple training machines in the USAAC, RAF and RCAF. The aircraft was also widely exported to Latin American countries.
