Tamiya 24077 Ferrari F40

The Ferrari F40 is an Italian sports car, the design of which was co-responsible for the Pininfarina design office. The car was presented to the public for the first time in 1987. Its serial production started in the same year and lasted only until 1992. In the course of it, 1310 copies of this car were produced.

The F40 model was developed to celebrate the 40th anniversary of Ferrari as well as to replace the 288 GTO in its lineup. It was also the last model of this company approved for production by its founder - Enzo Ferrari. The F40 model differed significantly from its predecessor - most of all it had a significantly changed body style, which was partly made of composites. It also had a more modern engine with greater maximum power, having two IHI turbochargers, which reaches 477 HP. The Ferrari F40 is able to accelerate to 325 km / h, accelerating from 0 to 100 km / h in 4.5 seconds. This model was replaced in the company's offer by the Ferrari F50. At the turn of the 1980s and 1990s, the F40 was one of the fastest and most distinctive sports cars, along with the Bugatti EB110, McLaren F1 and Porsche 959. The price of a used Ferrari F40 oscillates around a fabulous sum of 1-1.2 million euros!
