Aoshima 05508 J.A.S.D.F. Transporter C2

Kawasaki C-2 is a modern Japanese military transport plane built in the high wing configuration. The flight of the prototype took place in January 2010, and the machine entered service in 2016. Currently, no more than 10 of them have been produced, but the target production is estimated at approx. 50 units. In the basic version, the drive is provided by two General Electric CF6 turbofan engines with a thrust of 266 kN each. The machine is 43.9 meters long with a wingspan of 44.4 meters. The maximum speed is approx. 920 km / h, and the maximum range with a load of 20 tons - 7,600 kilometers. The Kawasaki C-2 was developed to replace the Kawasaki C-1 machines that entered service in the mid-1970s in the JASDF line. Compared to its predecessor, the new machine retained the general aerodynamic layout, but received much more modern engines with greater thrust and much more modern electronic equipment. This contributed to the improvement of aerodynamic properties and performance - especially maximum speed and flight range. It is assumed that the Kawasaki C-2 is currently one of the most modern military transport aircraft in the world.
