The KAB-500L is a modern, Russian (originally Soviet) general-purpose air bomb, free-falling - laser guided. The length of the bomb is 305 cm with a diameter of 400 millimeters. The curb weight is 525 kilograms, and the range of the weapon is 9 kilometers. The KAB-500L was developed from the KAB-500 general-purpose aerial bomb and first entered the airline in 1975. It is designed to precisely destroy enemy artillery positions, their command points or all kinds of fortified enemy resistance points. The principle of operation is similar to the American guided bombs from the Paveway family. The KAB-500L has a 27N homing head and CIS sensors. It also has a semi-active, guiding laser head that requires the target to be highlighted with a laser marker. The bomb can only be dropped at subsonic speeds from 500 to 5,000 meters. This type of weapon was widely used during both wars in Chechnya (1994-1996 and since 1999). Its carriers were especially MiG-27 and Su-24 planes.
The AA-10 Alamo (other names: R-27 Wympieł) is an air-to-air guided missile of Soviet, and now Russian, Cold War and modern times. The missile entered the line in 1983. The length of the projectile is 408 cm with a diameter of 23 centimeters. The mass of the ready-to-fire projectile is approx. 253 kg, while the mass of the warhead is 39 kg. However, the effective range of the shot varies depending on the version and ranges from 80 km (version R-27T) to approx. 170 km (version R-27EM)
Development works on the presented missile began in 1972, and in their course, efforts were made to create an air-to-air missile designed to destroy targets at medium and long distances, as well as to achieve the highest possible maximum speed. An unconventional bullet aerodynamic system was also used. Several versions of the R-27 missile were developed in the course of production. The first was the R-27R missile, i.e. the basic version with a semi-active radar guidance system with a range of up to 80 km (in the NATO code: Alamo-A). At the same time, a thermally guided version was created, designated R-27T (in NATO code: Alamo-B). There was also a version of the R-27P, a missile with a passive guidance warhead (NATO code: Alamo-D). Various variants of the AA-10 Alamo missile can be used on machines such as the MiG-29 or Su-27.
The AA-11 Archer (another name: R-73) is an air-to-air guided missile of Soviet, and now Russian, Cold War and modern times. The missile entered the line in 1984-1985. Its length is 290 cm with a diameter of 17 centimeters. The mass of the ready-to-fire projectile is approximately 105 kg, while the weight of the warhead is 7.4 kg. However, the effective range of the shot is up to 30-40 kilometers, depending on the version.
Development work on the AA-11 Archer missile began in 1973 with the goal of developing a new short-range air-to-air missile to replace the AA-8 Aphid missiles in line. Compared to its predecessor, the AA-11 Archer was significantly larger in size, but was also able to carry a warhead with a much greater mass, and had a significantly improved range of effective shot. Due to the use of gas-dynamic steering, it is considered a highly maneuverable missile, possibly exceeding the AIM-9 Sidewinder missile of earlier versions on this plane. However, just like the AA-8, it was a fully homing missile, referred to as "fire and forget". Various variants of the AA-11 Archer missile can be used on such machines as: MiG-21, MiG-29, Su-27, Su-35, but also Mi-24 or Ka-50.
