Mikromir 72-004 Soviet light passengers aircraft NIAI-1 "Fanera-2"

The NIAI LK-1 (another designation: Fanera-2) was a Soviet transport and passenger plane from the interwar period. The drive was provided by a single M-11 engine with a maximum power of 100 HP. The prototype flight took place in May 1933. Shortly after, a small series production started, which led to the production of about 20 examples of this aircraft.

The NIAI LK-1 was designed as the most aerodynamically efficient, small transport plane, capable of carrying up to four passengers, using wings closely integrated into the fuselage outline, with asymmetrical glazing of the pilot and passenger cabin. In order to reduce the cost of the plane mostly made of wood and plywood. Despite the somewhat unusual design, the machine turned out to be quite successful, and after making corrections to the prototypes, it was used by Aeroflot airlines and for flights in the Arctic. Probably a version of the NIAI-1P, a seaplane with a fixed float landing gear, was created.
