Unimodels 450 T68 flame thrower tank

The T-68 was a prototype American flamethrower tank from the Cold War period. Two prototypes of this vehicle were constructed in 1953 and were tested on the field trials in the same year, but they did not live up to the hopes placed on them and did not enter serial production. It was considered that the biggest drawback was the placement of the main weapon in the front of the tank, not in the rotating turret. The vehicles were created by adapting the hulls of the M4 Sherman vehicles with HVSS suspension to the Canadian E-33 flamethrower. The conversion consisted primarily of dismantling the tank turrets and replacing them with an armored plate with visors and a machine gun. The flamethrower was placed in the place of the radiotelegraph operator's MG, in the front of the car's hull. The vehicle crew was reduced to 3 people. It is worth adding that the inspiration for the construction of the T-68 was probably the Canadian Sherman Badger, the design of which was developed in the years 1945-1949.
