Stanisław Malczewski was born in September 1787 and died in October 1813. He was a Polish officer serving in the army of the Duchy of Warsaw and the Legia Nadwi¶lańska. He joined the Polish army in December 1806, at the age of 19. Originally he served in the cavalry, where he was rapidly promoted, and in 1807 he moved to the infantry, where in July of the same year he became a lieutenant. A year later, she was awarded the Cross of the Order of Virtuti Militari and was promoted to the rank of captain. In 1809, along with her battalion, she was assigned to the Legia Nadwislanska. In March 1809, he asked to be assigned to the staff of the French army, and this permission was granted to him shortly thereafter. In the same year (at the age of only 22!) He was awarded the Legion of Honor. From August 1812 he commanded the 2nd Regiment of the Vistula Legion, taking part with him in the battles of Borodino, Tarutino and Berezina in the course of the Russian campaign of the same year. In 1813 he commanded the remnants of infantry from the Legia Nadwi¶lańska formed in the Infantry Regiment of the Legion Nadwi¶lańska. With him, he enters the Battle of Lisek in 1813, where he died on October 19 at the age of 26.
