The Zakspeed 891 is a German Formula 1 car that debuted on the track in the Brazilian Grand Prix in 1989 and competed in F1 races only in the 1989 season. Its main designer was Gustaw Brunner. The vehicle was powered by a single, 8-cylinder Yamaha OX88 engine with displacement. 3.5 liters. The 891 model was developed to replace the previous car of the Zakspeed team - the 881. Compared to its predecessor, it was primarily powered by a completely different engine developed especially for this car by the Yamaha concern. For this reason, it is not uncommon to find the vehicle designation "Zakspeed-Yamaha 891". Compared to the 881 model, the Zakspeed 891 also featured a marginally longer wheelbase and slightly improved aerodynamic properties. However, the vehicle turned out to be unsuccessful - mainly due to the engine, which generated much less maximum power (560 HP) than the engines driving competing cars. In total, he only managed to qualify for 2 Grand Prix races!
