It is worth adding that the length of the gun's barrel was 17.257 meters. French naval cannon 380mm / 45 Modèle 1935 caliber 380 mm was developed from scratch, especially for two battleships: Richelieu and Jean Bart, which make up the Richelieu class of units. They were the largest and most powerful naval guns ever mounted on a French liner. On both battleships, they were mounted in two four-gun turrets. After the defeat of France in June 1940, Germany wanted to install three cannons of this type as coastal artillery in Norway, but the idea did not materialize until the end of World War II. Without a doubt french naval cannon 380mm / 45 Modèle 1935 was as good as that of the Italian or German navy and it can be considered a successful weapon.
